Close to Bloomington, close to family.

Bloomington sits across the Minnesota River from Burnsville. From Bloomington Civic Plaza on Old Shakopee Road, our home is about 6.6 miles, roughly 12 minutes by car, most of it highway across the river.

Many Bloomington families look south of the river for assisted living in a smaller, home-like setting. Ours is a single house on a quiet street, close enough that visits stay part of the week instead of a weekend trip.

About the area

Bloomington, just across the river.

Bloomington is Minnesota’s fourth-largest city and home to the Mall of America, Normandale Lake and its bandshell, and the trails of Hyland Lake Park Reserve. The Minnesota River valley forms its southern edge.

Neighborhoods range from post-war ramblers in east Bloomington to larger homes on the wooded west side. Many of those houses have basements and stairs that get harder with age, and that is often when a family starts looking for help.
