Respite Care in Burnsville, MN
Short-term stays in our assisted living home, so family caregivers can rest, travel or recover while their loved one is safe and well cared for.

A real break for you, real care for them.
Caring for a parent or spouse at home is meaningful work, and it is also exhausting. Respite care gives family caregivers time to rest, travel, handle their own health or simply catch their breath, knowing their loved one is in good hands.
During a respite stay, your loved one lives in our Burnsville home and receives the same care as our long-term residents: help with daily living, medications, home-cooked meals and trained staff on site around the clock. Families also use a short stay after a hospital or rehab visit, or to see whether assisted living is the right fit.

How long can a respite stay last?
Respite stays start at one week. The exact length is planned with each family based on your needs and room availability. Call us to talk through your dates.
Can a waiver pay for respite care?
Some Minnesota waivers, including the Elderly Waiver (EW) and CADI, can cover respite services. Your county case manager or health plan confirms what is covered. We also accept private pay and long-term care insurance.
What should we bring for a respite stay?
Clothing, toiletries, current medications with a list from the doctor, and any walker or wheelchair. Call us and we will go over what else to pack.
Can a respite stay become a long-term stay?
Yes. If your loved one is comfortable and a room is open, a respite stay can move to long-term assisted living.
